September 2009
We have been discussing getting in touch with the
town around a playground that had been purchased
for the Strathglass park several years ago. We plan
on finding out where the playground equipment is and
then developing a plan to get the equipment installed
for the children of the park to use.
Tee-shirts have been ordered in a limited quality for
now. We will hopefully be getting some more
information these shirts and will have them available
for sale.
We had a bake sale up at the Information center
which attracted some people and raised us around
$50.00! We are going to be holding a Supper at
some point and will be setting a date at our next
meeting.
News letters will be re-starting and being sent out
soon so keep an eye out on your mail box.
June 2009
The Park Clean up will occur on June 13th at 9:00 am.
We have chosen officers and co-officers for our
organization and have been discussing further fund
raising ideas. Mrs. Maifield has offered to share post
cards sporting pictures of the historic park to be
placed on tee-shirts. Vandalism continues to be an
issue in the park and the park has agreed to help with
the costs of a new mirror in which will hopefully uphold
better.
May 2009
We raised $164.00+ for the SPOA at our last bake
sale on May 2nd at the River Valley Crossing Plaza in
Rumford, Maine. We sold a variety of goods including
whoopie pies, cookies, candles, chances to win a
gum ball machine and hot dogs soda and other items
to benefit the Neighbor Hood watch program as well.
